How Green Are You?

I have to admit it. Eric has always been more of a responsible person when it came to recycling, conserving our resources, etc. It took me seeing “An Inconvenient Truth” to get me truly onboard. We’ve made a number of changes to our life and I think we’re fairly green.

Here’s a list of things that we do or have done:

Recycle newspaper
Recycle food containers
Take public transportation to work
Replaced our light bulbs with high efficiency ones
We’ve replaced our appliances with EnergyStar appliances
Use programmable thermostats
Set the thermostats to keep the house a bit cooler during the winter
Collect run off water from the air conditioner to water the plants
Installed storm windows
Replaced our furnace with a high efficiency unit

Trust me, some of these things are out of necessity, particularly when it comes to replacing appliances and the furnace. We just took the step to make sure we got efficient ones.

This got me thinking. Do you believe the global warming threat is real? How concerned are you about the environment? What steps have you taken to conserve?
