Mr. Rickard states early in this editorial that as a musician he does not care for singing competitions, yet he compares Lambert to Alen. Why? They are totally different, and tying to reach different audiences, for different reasons. Its the last paragraph of Mr Rickard's editorial that is most short sighted to me, thus sorta judgmental. The bottom line to this, if we looked at just one of, say David Bowie's albums, and compare it to some other artist we could think things like, "while so and so may not have the pipes you do, he has an honesty and quiet confidence that you don’t." Its all irrelevant in the big picture. Lets be patient and see what they do next and after that and again after that. My personal guess is that Lambert can do anything Allan can musically (and will in future albums), but Allan will disappear after awhile because I think what he does musically, is all he can do. But again, lets not judge, lets just observe and purchase their music if we want and listen to what you want to along the way. All this talk, (including mine) is just blah, blah, blah in the end really...

Adam Lambert should have been the winner on american idol, he is very talented and is a great performer but he did not win.

I agree that it was not Adam's best vocal performance. I did think his glorious theatrical side was allowed to show through in a way we were not "allowed" to see in American Idol. I watched American Idol and was very saddened when Adam didn't win. Kris was just not a performer/singer that caught my attention. When I would chat with friends the next day, I often couldn't remember what Kris had done. Adam is memorable, has a stage presence and I love his crazy clothes. I still have not heard the new CD but plan to buy it to see if his lyrics and voice break through when his presence doesn't dominate.

Where was Adam during SuperNova? LOL
